Nature-based Preschool

Fostering Healthy
Child Development

Children use their whole bodies to explore, experiment,
and solve problems. At SMCC, we use nature,
in conjunction with multi-sensory active learning, to
support whole-child development.

Music Circle Time with Arleen

  • Music teaches us so many things. Music circle is usually coordinated with themes that the center is focusing on for the month.
  • We sing songs, chant rhymes and finger plays, sing in different languages, learn about rounds and harmony and melody.
  • Children learn how to feel and hear a musical sentence, recognize differences in pitch, and learn to keep a beat.
  • Sugar Bear children who attend Music Day also learn to play the piano. They learn to move fingers independently and in rhythm.
  • Develop auditory memory skills and enjoy a fun first musical experience.
