Santa Margarita Children’s Center Family Lending Library

Santa Margarita Children’s Center is dedicated to promoting literacy and the joy of reading as it is the single best known indicator of success in school .  A child’s first introduction to books comes very early and primarily from parents.  Our family lending library is one way Santa Margarita supports and provides opportunities to encourage parents to continue to read to their children and foster a lifelong love of reading. Our library mural was painted by artist, Nathalie Hellequin, and Linda Grey, Parent Volunteer, organized and recreated this library space.  We are proud to have a beautiful, well maintained lending library, cared for by parent volunteers. It includes over a thousand books: fiction and non-fiction, board books, picture books without words, alphabet and basic concept books, poetry books, classics, parenting books, teacher’s curriculum books and resource books for study projects. Parents and child check out the books and bring them back when they have read them.
